Audiobook App for Dyslexia, ADHD and Reading Difficulty

HushBook is an audiobook app with word-by-word highlighted text and a dyslexia reading profile. Adjust fonts, spacing and size while the narrator reads.

What is a good audiobook app for dyslexia or ADHD?

HushBook is built for it. It shows the text with each spoken word highlighted, and has reading profiles for dyslexia, vision and comprehension. You can change fonts, spacing and caption size while the narrator keeps going.

Dyslexia

A dedicated reading profile with font, spacing and size controls.

ADHD and focus

The moving highlight gives your eyes something to follow.

Vision

A vision profile and larger text options.

Why does seeing the words help?

Hearing a book and seeing the same words together gives two inputs at once. Many readers who lose their place on a plain page, or drift during audio alone, find the highlight keeps them anchored. This varies from person to person, and HushBook is a reading aid, not a medical tool.

What can you adjust?

  • Font and spacing.
  • Caption size.
  • Theme, including a warm amber one.
  • Page or vertical reading mode.

What are the three profiles?

When you set up, you choose Comprehension, Dyslexia or ADHD, or Vision. Each starts you with settings suited to it, and you can change them later.

Is it private?

Yes. There is no account, the transcript is made on your phone, and the audio is not uploaded.

Where do the books come from?

From the library of 20k+ public-domain titles, or from audiobook files you own. DRM-protected files cannot be imported as ordinary files.
