Word-level karaoke for any audiobook
Every word lights up in sync with the narration. Tap a word to jump straight there; auto-scroll keeps your place, the moment you scroll up it waits for you, and you can capture any line as a quote.
HushBook turns any audiobook into word-level karaoke — transcribed privately on your phone.
That moving text isn't a gimmick — it's the whole product. HushBook transcribes any audiobook on your phone and lines each word up to the voice, so you can read while you listen, tap a word to jump there, and never lose your place — even offline.
Six things HushBook does that an ordinary player can't — built around synced karaoke, privacy, and accessibility.

No. Transcription runs entirely on-device with the HushBook Engine — there's no cloud upload, no account, and no sign-in. Your audiobooks and your listening data stay on your phone. Once a model is downloaded, the whole thing works fully offline.
MP3, M4B, M4A and most common audio formats, one file per import. M4B chapter markers are detected automatically, and you can add more chapters to a book later. HushBook reads the duration and metadata, then starts transcribing in the background.
HushBook generates them itself. There's no lyrics database — the HushBook Engine runs on your imported audio to produce word-level timings, then highlights each word as the narrator speaks it. The first transcription of a long book takes a while; after that it's instant every time you open it.
The core read-along experience is free, and so is the built-in library of public-domain LibriVox and Internet Archive audiobooks. Some advanced analytics are planned as an optional upgrade, but reading along with your own books costs nothing.
Anyone who reads with their ears — and especially people served by our Vision, Dyslexia and Comprehension accessibility profiles. Pick one once and fonts, caption sizes and colours adapt across the entire app: Atkinson Hyperlegible and large captions for low vision, OpenDyslexic with reading overlays for dyslexia and ADHD, and focused comprehension tools for everyone else.
